Overflow Designation for Cambrian Heights School
The Calgary Board of Education (CBE) would like to inform you that due to continued enrolment growth at Cambrian Heights School, the school will be unable to accommodate all the students from the currently designated communities for the remainder of the 2024-25 school year and beyond. For this reason, enrolment at Cambrian Heights School will be capped, and an overflow school will be established for students living in Livingston.
Effective immediately, the following changes will be implemented for students who live in the Livingston community:
- All new kindergarten to Grade 6 students designated to Cambrian Heights School who cannot be accommodated at Cambrian Heights School will be designated to North Haven School for the remainder of the 2024-25 school year and beyond.
- A lottery will be held in February 2025 for kindergarten and Grade 1 entry into Cambrian Heights for the 2025-26 school year. Students who are unsuccessful in the lottery process will be designated to North Haven School. Information about the CBE lottery process is available at Lottery Information for Parents.
The CBE strives to provide options to keep siblings together at a single school. Families with a kindergarten or grade 1 student who is unsuccessful in the lottery, and a sibling who is already attending Cambrian Heights School, may choose to register all children at North Haven School.
Notice Regarding School Overflow Designation for Simon Fraser School

To address this challenge, enrolment at Simon Fraser School will be capped, and an overflow school will be designated for the Evanston community.
For the 2024-25 school year and beyond, the following changes will be implemented for students that live in the Evanston community:
- All new Grade 5 to 9 students designated to Simon Fraser School who cannot be accommodated at Simon Fraser School will be designated to William D. Pratt School.

Regular Program
What is the Regular Program?
The Regular Program spans from kindergarten through grade 12, providing a comprehensive educational experience. In alignment with provincial standards, our curriculum not only integrates academics, arts, and physical education but also emphasizes tailoring the learning adventure to individual strengths and interests. We're all about inclusivity, providing special education resources to support diverse learning needs. Beyond the classroom, students dive into a world of extracurricular activities, including sports, arts, music, and community service, making every day exciting. We believe in teamwork, actively encouraging parental involvement through events like parent-teacher conferences, creating a collaborative and supportive educational atmosphere.
Alternative Program
Learning to Fit Each Student's Needs and Interests
Alternative programs provide a distinct educational experience by focusing on specific subjects or languages and engaging students with advanced learning methods or in unique classroom environments. These programs are designed to personalize education to meet students' learning needs and goals. Additionally, some alternative programs may be more flexible regarding schedule or structure, giving students greater control over their learning. Parental involvement is highly encouraged through activities such as parent-teacher conferences and school events.
Registration for Non-Canadian Students
Welcome to Our Diverse and Inclusive Academic Community!
We are thrilled to extend a warm welcome to non-Canadian students who are eager to embark on an enriching educational journey with us. Our schools are welcoming, caring, respectful and safe environments where students will learn, make new friends, and discover their talents and interests. Students who are not Canadian citizens must register through CBE Welcome Centre, even if they have attended school elsewhere in Canada.
