Dear Cambrian Heights School Families,

Welcome to the 2026–27 school year!

This year, there is a real sense of renewal at Cambrian Heights School. A great deal of work took place over the summer, with the biggest change being the installation of new flooring throughout the school. The exterior stucco was painted, seven classrooms received fresh paint, the entire interior of the building was repainted, and every doorknob in the school was replaced. Many of those doorknobs had been here since the school first opened in 1957!

While our building may look refreshed, the heart of Cambrian Heights remains the same. Our core values of Respect, Bravery, and Honesty will continue to guide how we learn, work, and care for one another. These values are woven into our classrooms, assemblies, celebrations, and the everyday choices we make as a school community.

We are also excited to welcome many new staff members to Cambrian Heights this year, including new teachers across Grades 1 through 5. They bring new ideas, experiences, and energy to our school, and they have already joined our returning staff in creating welcoming and engaging spaces for students.

Throughout the year, our Cougars Corner Weekly Update will continue to be your main source for important dates, school news, learning highlights, and updates from the Cambrian Heights Parent Association. Strong communication continues to be a priority for us, and we want families to feel informed, connected, and involved in the life of our school.

Our Assistant Principal, Erin Laberee Lee, and I welcome your questions, feedback, and ideas. My door is always open, and we encourage you to reach out whenever there is something we can help with. Our school is strongest when families and staff communicate openly and work together to support our students.

We are proud of our school’s history and excited about what lies ahead. With renewed spaces, new members of our community, and the values that continue to ground us, we look forward to another wonderful year of learning, connection, and growth.
