School Update:
National Day for Truth and Reconciliation at Cambrian Heights School
This past week, our students engaged in meaningful learning and reflection in honor of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. We began with a powerful school-wide read-aloud of With Our Orange Hearts by Phyllis Webstad, which helped students understand the significance of wearing orange shirts and why this day matters to all Canadians.
As part of our ongoing commitment to reconciliation, students created an inspiring art display now showcased in our foyer. This display reflects their deep understanding of reconciliation through both written and artistic expressions. Be sure to also check out the many thoughtful reflections featured on our Indigenous Education bulletin board, where students have shared their medicine wheel reflections around our core values and goals for the year.
Grade 5/6 School Safety Patrol Begins
We are excited to announce that our Grade 5/6 students will officially begin their role as safety patrollers on Wednesday, October 2. A big thank you goes out to these students who are volunteering their time to help ensure everyone's safety during school crossings. This week, our patrollers received valuable training from AMA staff, and we are proud to see them continue the Cambrian Heights tradition of promoting safe crossings at the front of our school.
As a community, let's support our safety patrollers by staying mindful and alert during drop-off and pick-up times. Together, we can keep our school environment safe for everyone!
Thank You for Attending Parent-Teacher Conferences
A big thank you to all the parents and guardians who attended our first parent-teacher conferences of the 2024-25 school year! We greatly value your input and appreciate the opportunity to partner with you in your child's learning journey. For any families who were unable to attend, we encourage you to reach out to your child's teacher to arrange an appointment.
At Cambrian Heights, we believe that strong partnerships and open communication with parents are key to student success. Our teachers are always available to meet, and we look forward to continuing to work together throughout the year.
Lost & Found
Please remind your child to check the lost and found for items they may have misplaced or lost. Our collection of items is beginning to grow! Parents are also welcome to visit the school and see if they recognize any items that belong to their children.
Have a great weekend!

A Message From Cambrian Heights Parent Council and Fundraising Society
Hello Cambrian Heights parents and guardians,
We are very pleased to announce that this year we will be running a new and exciting fall fundraiser!
We have partnered with a high-quality Okanagan orchard, Sun-Oka Fruit Farms, to sell their delicious farm-fresh apples. This century-old family farm has won all kinds of major awards for their fruit, including best apple in Canada for eight straight years! These are the highest quality apples available anywhere! Since we’re sourcing them directly from the farm, you get to buy them at below grocery store prices. Plus, with each box sold, Cambrian Heights will receive $8-$10 back! The funds we raise are so important for providing additional school resources that will enrich and enhance our kids’ academic, physical and social growth.
There are 2 apple varieties available - Ambrosia(10 lbs for $23.95) and Honeycrisp(10 lbs for 29.50).
Feel free to share this fundraiser with your friends and family. Everything is done online, so you won’t have to deal with any of the hassles of collecting money or keeping records. All you need to do is share your personal sales link via email or text message. It’s sweet and simple and only takes a couple minutes of your time. The best part is that you can earn up to $6 off per box of apples when others order off of your sales link! All orders must be in by Wednesday, October 9. Apples will be delivered to the school on Monday, October 21. Please email cambrian.schoolcouncil@gmail.com with any questions that you may have.
