School Update:
eSports Gaming Club Returns!
Our eSports Gaming Club is back and kicked off this week, led by Mr. Dang (Grade 4) and Ms. Meyers (Grade 2/3)! They’re starting with their grade groups, using the CBE-approved Nintendo Switch that we purchased last year as our official eSports device. eSports isn’t “just video games.” Students are building real-world skills: strategic thinking, teamwork, communication, focus, and problem-solving under pressure.
And for many kids who might not see themselves in traditional sports, eSports offers a place to belong, grow confidence, and feel connected to their school community. Let the games begin!
Bridge Foundation Lunchtime Club Launched this Week
We’re excited to share that the Calgary Bridge Foundation for Youth has launched a new lunchtime club for our Grade 4, 5, and 6 students – and the interest has been incredible! The club officially began this week and is designed to help students build confidence, belonging, and community.
Each week, students enjoy a welcoming space where they can connect with friends, take part in fun games and activities, and receive peer mentorship. It’s a positive, supportive environment where students can develop leadership skills and strengthen their social connections. The Bridge Foundation will be running two 10-week sessions this year so that everyone who wants to participate will have the opportunity. We’re grateful for this wonderful partnership and the opportunities it brings to our students!
Cambrian Heights School Reading Challenge
Our Library Assistant, Ms. Jasmin, has launched a brand-new Reading Challenge to spark excitement and build strong reading habits across the school! Students can track their reading at home and bring their tracking sheet to the library to exchange for Calgary Stampeder cards, Endangered Species cards, or Dinosaur cards.
Each student will be bringing home a tracking sheet provided by Ms. Jasmin, where they can record the minutes they read each day and collect a quick parent initial. Once the sheet comes back to school, they can trade it in for one of the fun rewards listed above.
Daily reading is one of the most powerful ways to grow vocabulary, strengthen comprehension, and build confidence – and this challenge gives students a fun goal to work toward while nurturing a lifelong love of reading. Happy reading, Cambrian Heights!

Cambrian Heights Parent Association Update:
Next Meeting: January 22, 2026 (Annual AGM)
Email: Cambrian.schoolcouncil@gmail.com
Thank you to everyone who joined our School Council meeting last night – both in person and online. With over 30 participants, it was an excellent turnout, and we are truly grateful for such strong community engagement.
Your participation truly matters. When families come together to share ideas, ask questions, and collaborate with staff, it strengthens our school community and helps guide decisions that positively impact students each day.
Our next meeting will be a special one – our Annual General Meeting (AGM), where we vote in our School Council Executive. We hope to see many of you there! Thank you for your continued support.
