School Update:

Grade 6 Outdoor School at Camp Chief Hector

This afternoon, we proudly hosted the first-ever Cougars Invitational Soccer Match against Beddington Heights School! Our competitive soccer team has been preparing for this opportunity since the start of the school year, with many of our students spending lunch hours playing soccer throughout the year. Their enthusiasm for the game never slowed down…they even kept the games going through the winter months, playing out in the snow!

Our Cougars put together an impressive performance and earned a convincing victory, but what stood out even more was the sportsmanship and character displayed throughout the day. Competitive athletics at the elementary level provide important opportunities for students to learn lessons that extend far beyond the game itself. Through competition, students experience what it feels like to win and lose, and they learn how to respond to both with humility, resilience, and grace.

I was especially proud of the way our students represented Cambrian Heights School as gracious winners. Beddington Heights School has already accepted the challenge of returning next year to compete again for the Cougars Invitational Trophy. The winning school will proudly display the trophy until next May when the tradition continues!

Thank you to the many family members who came out to support our students and help create such a positive atmosphere. We were happy to provide snacks for our guests and finish the afternoon with a fun penalty shot competition for students. A special thank you also goes to Ms. Greig for serving as our referee and helping make this memorable first event such a success.

What a fantastic afternoon and the start of what we hope becomes a long-standing Cambrian Heights tradition!

Volunteer Tea – May 29 at 10:30 AM

Join us for our Volunteer Tea as we celebrate and thank the incredible volunteers who help make our school community so special. From supporting field trips and helping in classrooms to organizing School Council initiatives and so much more, your time, energy, and dedication help create meaningful experiences for our students every day.

We also have extra special volunteers who step up to support other classes to ensure successful field trips, even when they do not have students in those classes, as well as grandparents and family members who generously give their time to our school community. We are truly grateful for all that you do and look forward to celebrating you!

Join us on May 29 at 10:30 AM for a celebration in your honour. If you have volunteered this year, you should have received both an email and paper invitation. If you have not received one, please RSVP to Erin Laberee Lee at eklaberee@cbe.ab.ca.

Cambrian Heights Community Association Family Bike Day

The Cambrian Heights Community Association is excited to host its Annual Family Bike Day on Saturday, May 30 from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the community centre. Families can enjoy free bike tune-ups, activities, and community fun throughout the day.

We are grateful for the strong partnership we continue to share with the Cambrian Heights Community Association. As close neighbours who share community spaces and a commitment to supporting local families, we deeply value the opportunities to work together in creating positive experiences for children and the broader community.
