School Update:
Grade 3/4 Sharing Assembly: Legacy & 2School Experience
Grade 3/4 students from Ms. Andrew’s and Ms. Gauthier’s classes hosted a sharing assembly in the gym on Thursday, where they presented some of their learning from the Campus Calgary Open Minds (CCOM) experience at 2School they had a few weeks ago. 2School is a week-long curriculum-based experience utilizing the downtown urban environment as their classroom. The focus during their learning experience was around the concept of legacy - the history and stories that shape our community - and they explored the question: What steps can we all take to build a meaningful legacy in our community?
As part of their learning, students examined the significance of place names like Stephen Avenue and Memorial Drive, as well as the legacy of influential women in Calgary. To conclude their presentation, they performed an original song set to the tune of We Will Rock You by Queen, which they cleverly adapted into We Love 2School! Follow the link below to view the PowerPoint they shared, showcasing their creative work.

Dance-Off Finals Are Set!
Next Friday, our Dance-Off finals will feature an exciting showdown between Ms. Thistle’s Grade 3/4 class and Ms. Bower’s Grade 5 class! You may have heard about our Dance-Off competition over the past few weeks. Classes have been facing off in online dance battles, with the group moving on after each round determined by student votes.
At set times during the week, all classes tune in online through Google Meet to watch two competing classes perform. The genre of music is selected just before the competition begins, adding an element of surprise and excitement. This event is all about building community, having fun, and showcasing the dance skills students developed during our hip-hop residency from earlier in the year. It’s been an incredible competition, and we can’t wait to see who takes home the championship title next week!
Have a great weekend!
