School Update:
Grade 3/4 Sharing Assembly Highlights
This week, Mr. Dang, Ms. Thistle, and Ms. Wong's Grade 3/4 classes hosted a fantastic sharing assembly, showcasing their learning through community walks and land-based experiences. They engaged the audience in an interactive activity using Zones of Regulation visuals to help students identify emotions, followed by a performance of The Feelings Song.
Ms. Wong’s class shared photos and artifacts from their week at Campus Calgary Open Minds (CCOM) at Stampede School, where they explored the rich history, culture, and connections between people and the land. The assembly wrapped up with an exciting preview of the CCOM Healthy Living School at the YMCA, which Mr. Dang and Ms. Thistle’s classes will attend in May and June. This unique program focuses on the many ways active living contributes to a vibrant community and highlights kids’ roles within that community.
It was a wonderful celebration of learning—thank you to our Grade 3/4 students and teachers for sharing their experiences!
Grade 6 Basketball Tournament Results!
The Teachers vs. Students Basketball game on Wednesday was a thrilling matchup, and a huge thank you goes out to Alberta Bible College for allowing us to use their fantastic facilities. Having a full-size gym with regulation nets made all the difference!
The students brought speed, stamina, and determination, but in the end, the teachers held their own, securing a 50-30 victory. The game was competitive, full of energy, and – thankfully – resulted in only one teacher knee injury (a small price to pay for glory). The crowd was loud, enthusiastic, and fully invested in every play, making the atmosphere electric.
As the Grade 5 students watched from the sidelines, they were already sizing up the competition, eager for their shot next year!

Keeping Our School Clean – a Team Effort!
A big thank you to our students for their efforts in keeping our school clean during the current labour action. We appreciate how respectful everyone has been in the washrooms, how mindful students are about keeping the floor around their desk areas tidy, and the care they’ve taken with their belongings in the hallways.
We also want to acknowledge parents for their support in having students bring their lunch waste home – this simple habit helps reduce garbage and organics in the school, making a big difference in keeping our space clean.
By working together, we are ensuring that Cambrian Heights School remains a clean, safe, and welcoming place for everyone. Thank you for your continued support!
Have a great weekend!
