School Update:
Cambrian Heights Students Shine at Track & Field Championships
Last Saturday, over 20 Cambrian Heights School students represented us at the 2025 Elementary School Track & Field Championships, competing in an incredible 47 events throughout the day!
Highlights included Callie earning 1st place in Shot Put, Arya taking home 2nd place in Shot Put, and a standout performance from Blessing, who claimed two 1st place ribbons in the 150 m and 400 m sprints. Blessing didn’t just win the 150 m sprint… he crushed it, crossing the finish line well ahead of the pack!
Congratulations to all our Cambrian Heights School athletes for their effort, energy, and sportsmanship. And a huge thank you to our Phys. Ed. & Wellness teacher, Mr. Sadowsky, who spent the entire day at the meet supporting and cheering on our students. We’re so grateful!

Seventh Campus Calgary Open Minds Experience!
This week, Ms. Thistle’s Grade 3/4 class wrapped up Cambrian Heights School’s final Campus Calgary Open Minds experience of the year with a week of learning at the YMCA. Students took part in ice skating, rock climbing, cooperative games, journaling, and daily reflections—each activity focused on building confidence, teamwork, and personal wellness.
This was the seventh Campus Calgary Open Minds program our school participated in this year. These weeklong learning experiences are awarded through a competitive application process, and securing seven in one year is a testament to the commitment and leadership of our staff.
Again, a huge thank you to our amazing parent volunteers – your support was essential in making this unforgettable learning experience possible!
Honouring Our Patrollers: A New Cambrian Tradition
On Thursday, our School Safety Patrollers headed to Heritage Park for the AMA School Safety Patrol Appreciation Day Picnic – a well-earned celebration of their service. This was the first time in many years that Cambrian Heights School has taken part in this event, and I’m excited to make it a new tradition to recognize the important role our patrollers play in our school community.
A huge thank you to our dedicated patrollers, who have shown up in all kinds of weather to support safe crossings and help keep our students and families safe all year long. Your commitment does not go unnoticed – we appreciate you!
And, a special thank you to our School Council for generously funding the transportation costs and amusement park ride bracelets for students.
Celebrating Our Grade 6 Leaders
This Friday, we came together to celebrate our amazing Grade 6 students as they wrapped up their time at Cambrian Heights School. Families joined us for a special farewell ceremony that included a heartfelt slideshow of highlights from the year, a sweet singing performance by two of our Grade 1 classes, and delicious cupcakes generously provided by our School Council – thank you to all the parents who were able to attend and support this milestone.
We are incredibly proud of our Grade 6 leaders. Throughout the year, they’ve demonstrated our core values of respect, honesty, and bravery.
As they take their next steps, we encouraged our students to carry those values with them.
Be brave…try something new, join a club or team, speak up for someone else. Be respectful…listen deeply, stay curious, and treat others with care. And above all, be honest…about who you are, what you believe in, and how you show up for others. Thank you, Grade 6 students!!
Have a wonderful weekend!

Heartfelt Thanks to Our Incredible Community…
Dear Cambrian Heights School Families,
I am absolutely overwhelmed with gratitude for the tremendous outpouring of support we received for our Elbow River Casino fundraiser, organized by our dedicated School Council. Because of your generosity and willingness to step up, they have filled almost every volunteer spot needed to secure nearly $80,000 in funding for our school. I cannot thank you enough for your commitment to our students. Your willingness to volunteer your time is a testament to the strength and unity of our community.
I am incredibly proud to serve as the Principal of a school where parents, guardians, and community members come together with such passion and dedication. This support allows us to dream big for our students, as the funds raised will go directly into enhancing their learning experience. From reducing the costs of field trips, creating opportunities to bring in resident experts, to transforming our school library into a vibrant hub for innovation and exploration, your efforts will leave a lasting impact.
Thank you once again for your generosity, enthusiasm, and unwavering support. It is because of you that Cambrian Heights continues to be a vibrant, thriving place to learn and grow.
I am deeply proud to serve this community and look forward to celebrating these successes together in the months to come.
With heartfelt appreciation,
Todd Webber
