School Update:
Gymnastics in Full Swing!
This week, Mr. Sadowsky has our gymnastics program is in full swing! Students have been practicing skills like balance, core strength, safety falls, and cartwheels. Our gym is set up with floor mats, an oversized crash mat, a vaulting box and a range of other equipment to support their learning and physical development.
One of the perks of our vintage school building is the Canadian Climber apparatus in our gym! You might have noticed it tucked against the wall opposite the stage. This unique structure unfolds to provide students with opportunities to build strength and dexterity through rope and ladder climbs, and pull-up bar exercises. While this apparatus is a rare find, we are lucky to have it as part of our gym program.
Gymnastics will continue for the next two weeks, giving students even more time to develop their skills, confidence, and coordination!
Learning on the Land Continues Through Winter
At Cambrian Heights School, Learning on the Land experiences have continued, even as the Winter months settle in. This approach allows students to connect deeply with the natural world, fostering both mindfulness and a sense of place.
Our Grade 5 and 6 students have been braving the chill to explore the serenity of Confederation Park, engaging with its landscapes in meaningful ways. Follow the links below to glimpse one of the peaceful spot they frequent—an inspiring reminder of the importance of outdoor learning in every season.
As part of their experiences, students use their visual journals to reflect on seasonal changes in a familiar place. By revisiting the same spot throughout the year, they’re developing a deeper appreciation for nature’s cycles and honing their ability to express themselves creatively and thoughtfully.
We’re so proud of their engagement and invite you to peek into the serene world they’re exploring!

Cambrian Heights Parent Association Update:
Next Meeting: January 23, 2025
Annual General Meeting (AGM)
Please note that our School Council meeting on January 23, 2025, is also the Annual General Meeting (AGM). This is one of the most important events for our School Council. At this meeting, elections for executive positions on School Council will take place, and all parents of students attending Cambrian Heights School are eligible for election. We are working with the school to provide an online option for parents to attend and participate. More information on that to come!
