School Update:
Calling All Bakers!
We are excited to announce an upcoming Bake Sale to support our Grade Six trip to Camp Chief Hector. The sale will take place at the Winter Concert on December 11 at Cambrian Heights School, and we need your help to make it a success!
How You Can Help:
- Be a Baker: We are looking for volunteers to bake a variety of delicious treats! If you love baking, please consider contributing to the sale. We ask that all items be pre-packaged in groups of 6 servings (e.g., 6 cookies, 6 mini cupcakes, etc.) for easy sale. This helps us keep things organized and makes it easier for shoppers to grab and go.
- Allergen Information: If your baked goods contain any common allergens (e.g., nuts, dairy, gluten), please include a note with the items indicating the specific allergens, so we can inform buyers. This ensures that everyone can enjoy your treats safely!
Packaging Instructions:
- Please package your items in groups of 6 servings per package.
- Label packages clearly with the contents (e.g., “6 chocolate chip cookies” or “6 mini brownies”).
- For any items with high allergens, please include a note with your baked goods listing any allergens present. Common allergens to be aware of include peanuts, tree nuts, eggs, dairy, wheat, soy, gluten, and sesame.
Drop-off Details:
- Date: Wednesday, December 10 or Thursday December 11 during school hours (8:00am-3:00pm).
- Drop off: Feel free to send items with your student on the bus or alternatively items can be dropped off to the office.
No need to sign up! Just bring your baking at the drop off times! Each item baked helps make the bake sale a success and helps lower the cost of this amazing experience!
Community Activity Day at Cambrian Heights School
This morning, our entire school came together for our first Community Activity Day (CAD) of the year – an opportunity for all students to step outside of their regular classes and reconnect in mixed-grade groups. CAD is all about building relationships across our school, encouraging students to collaborate with peers of all ages, and experiencing new activities led by different staff members.
Each group rotated through two unique experiences ranging from STEM challenges…like constructing the tallest free-standing structure or programming Ozobots…to musical explorations using our Boomwhackers. Students also expressed their creativity by making friendship bracelets or paper art, and they got moving with cooperative games in the gym. No matter the activity, every group had the chance to work together, problem-solve, try something new, and have fun.
At the heart of CAD is the intentional practice of our Core Values: Respect, Bravery, and Honesty. Students showed Respect by helping one another, listening, and collaborating. They demonstrated Bravery by stepping out of their comfort zones – meeting new people, trying unfamiliar challenges, and sharing ideas. And they practiced Honesty by reflecting on their contributions, owning their efforts, and engaging authentically with their teammates.
Adding to the excitement, each mixed-grade group represented one of our four House Teams…Fire Cougars, Earth Cougars, Water Cougars, and Wind Cougars. Teachers awarded points throughout the morning based on how well groups demonstrated our Core Values, all contributing to our year-long House Team competition.
It was a fantastic Friday morning filled with smiles, laughter, teamwork, and community spirit.

Have a great weekend!
