School Update:
Winter Concert Highlights and Gratitude
What an incredible evening our Winter Concert turned out to be! Thank you to all the families who bundled up and joined us on such a cold night. Your presence filled the gym with warmth, joy, and a real sense of community.
A huge thank you as well to everyone who donated baking for our bake sale. It was such a generous outpouring of support, and we’re thrilled to share that it completely sold out! Your contributions helped make the evening even more special, as the fund will be going towards reducing the cost for all families attending outdoor school for grade 6 students.
We are also very grateful to our School Council for organizing and hosting the Holiday Market. It was beautifully set up, very well received, and added such a festive and welcoming feel to the night.
A special shout-out goes to our Music Specialist, Ms. Andrews, and student teacher Ms. Ashworth. Their creativity, dedication, and countless hours of planning and rehearsing truly brought the show to life. The care they put into every detail was evident in each performance.
And of course, our biggest applause goes to the students. Their enthusiasm, courage, and hard work shone from the moment they stepped on stage. They were phenomenal, and we could not be prouder.
Events like our Winter Concert remind us how powerful it is when a school community comes together – students, families, staff, and volunteers – to celebrate learning, creativity, and connection. Thank you for helping make Cambrian Heights such a warm, supportive, and vibrant place to learn and belong.
I am so grateful for this community!!
Food Bank Donations – Final Week of School
As we head into the final week of school, we’re inviting our Cambrian Heights families to help us support our wider community through a Food Bank donation drive.
If your family is able, we welcome small, non-perishable food donations throughout the week. All donations will be collected at school and delivered to the food bank on Friday.
Suggested donation items include:
- Canned vegetables, fruit, or soup
- Pasta, rice, or canned pasta
- Peanut butter or other nut butters
- Cereal or oatmeal
- Granola bars or snack packs
- Canned protein (beans, tuna, salmon)
Thank you for your generosity and for modelling kindness, empathy, and community care for our students. Every contribution — big or small — makes a difference.
Media Release & Social Media Reminder
At the start of the school year, families were asked to complete a media release (FOIP consent) form for their child. This consent allows Cambrian Heights School and the Calgary Board of Education to share images, videos, and student work in places such as school newsletters, our website, social media, and school displays.
As we continue to celebrate student learning and community life, you’ll be seeing more photos and highlights shared on our Instagram account @Cambrian_Heights_CBE.
If you have previously provided consent and have any questions or concerns about this, please don’t hesitate to contact the school – we’re always happy to talk things through.
Similarly, if you have not yet completed a media release form but are comfortable with your child appearing in our Instagram posts, please reach out to the school so we can update our records.
Thank you for helping us share and celebrate the wonderful learning happening at Cambrian Heights School!
Stay warm out there and thank you for being such a supportive community,
Todd Webber
