School Update:

Winter Concert Update – The Sights & Sounds of Winter

We are so excited for our Winter Concert on December 11, The Sights and Sounds of Winter. Even with a shorter preparation window this year, our students have been working incredibly hard, and I am so grateful for our Music Specialist, Ms. Heather Andrews, for the time, energy, and care she has put into making this event possible.

An official invitation is being sent home today, and you’ll notice that each grade group has its own arrival time. Rather than the traditional Christmas concert model – where the entire community arrives at once and watches every class perform – our approach of breaking the show into separate performances for each grade group has families arrive in time to drop off their child well before their curtain call, and then get in line for a great seat, which means:

  • A much smaller, more comfortable audience
  • Better seating and sightlines
  • A more reasonable time commitment for families

We will be clearing the gym after each performance to reset for the next grade group.  If you have more than one child performing and will be attending multiple shows, you may have some time between performances. Please know there will be plenty to do while you wait. We’ll have a Bake Sale in the Library, along with a Christmas Market hosted by School Council, featuring Purdy’s Chocolates and a variety of dollar-store-priced stocking stuffers.

Here is the breakdown of arrival times for each grade group…

·         Kindergarten/Grade 1 – 5:40 pm

·         Grade 2/3 (Auer, Wong, Kauer) – 6:00 pm

·         Grade 2/3 (Bailey, Nacinovic, Meyers) – 6:30 pm

·         Grade 4 – 7:00 pm

·         Grade 5 – 7:30 pm

·         Grade 6 – 8:00 pm

We can’t wait to share this special evening with you!

Lunch Recess Intramurals in the Gym Have Begun!

We’re excited to share that our Phys. Ed and Wellness teacher, Mr. Greg Sadowsky, has opened the gym at lunchtime on Mondays and Wednesdays for students to participate in intramural sports. This provides students with another great opportunity to stay active, build teamwork skills, and burn off some energy in a fun, structured environment.

A big thank-you to Mr. Sadowsky for generously volunteering his lunch hours to make this happen for our students!

Thank You for Attending Parent-Teacher Conferences

A heartfelt thank-you to all the families who were able to attend Parent-Teacher conferences this week. We know how busy life can be, and we truly appreciate you making the time to connect with us.

If you were unable to attend, please feel free to reach out to your child’s teacher – they would be happy to arrange a meeting at a time that works for you.

We deeply value our partnership with families and the shared commitment to supporting each child’s learning and growth. Working together makes all the difference!

Have a great weekend!

Cambrian Heights Parent Association Update:

Next Meeting: January 22, 2026 (Annual AGM)

Email: Cambrian.schoolcouncil@gmail.com

Thank you to everyone who joined our School Council meeting last night – both in person and online. With over 30 participants, it was an excellent turnout, and we are truly grateful for such strong community engagement.

Your participation truly matters. When families come together to share ideas, ask questions, and collaborate with staff, it strengthens our school community and helps guide decisions that positively impact students each day.

Our next meeting will be a special one – our Annual General Meeting (AGM), where we vote in our School Council Executive. We hope to see many of you there! Thank you for your continued support.
