 School Update:

- In celebration of National Indigenous History Month, students have embraced the Medicine Wheel Framework to actively contribute written reflections and artwork to a shared bulletin board, centered around Calgary's water crisis. This approach offers a holistic perspective, allowing students to explore the intellectual, emotional, physical, and communal dimensions of the issue. By incorporating Indigenous perspectives during this significant month, students have deepened their understanding of their environmental responsibilities and connections. They've reflected on their personal water conservation efforts, offered insights for others to contribute, and examined the impacts of water restrictions on their daily lives. Through this collaborative initiative, students have not only raised awareness but also cultivated a sense of communal responsibility and empowerment in addressing Calgary's critical water emergency. Thank you to all students who have contributed their writing and artwork to this initiative, and for everyone’s dedication in conserving water during this challenging time.

- We are excited to announce that all nine teachers on probationary contracts at Cambrian Heights School have received continuous contracts, and will be returning next school year. Staff retention in teaching helps ensure continuity and stability. When teachers stay with a school long-term, they build strong relationships with students, colleagues, and the community, fostering a supportive learning environment. Congratulations to Brett Macdonald, Danielle Gauthier, Emily McDonald, Emma Thistle, Hailey Bauman, Kevin Dang, Miranda Myers, and Rachel Ewurum!

- We appreciate the shows of support from the community as we work together to continue building our safe and inclusive environment. Everyone plays a crucial role in fostering healthy relationships and cultivating positive social environments. Just as we personalize learning, we tailor our approach to addressing conflicts, recognizing that each situation requires a unique solution. Parents can support prevention efforts by actively listening to their children, being positive role models, setting clear consequences for challenging behaviors, and by working in partnership with the school when incidents occur. Likewise, students can be proactive by speaking up, seeking help when needed, and by demonstrating kind and respectful behavior to each other. Thank you for your continued support of this wonderful community.
